[He barely has time to read one before a ton of others come in. That's a sign of something not good because he can tell this isn't excitement. Stupid? What did he do? Instead he calls him back.]
[ it's only half way through the first ring when rain answers in a bit of a panic. he barely even hears sky's question and just sort of talks over him ]
I got drunk and had sex with someone last night!
[ it's said quickly - out in the span on a single breath - and then he falls silent, waiting for sky to say something in return ]
[His blood runs ice cold. Enough so that he drops the device in his hand. Rain did... Rain... Slowly, he reaches down to pick up the device again to bring it back to his ear.]
[ the sound of the device dropping rings loudly in rain's ears and he winces a little. the only sound in the silence that feels like it stretches on for ages. he chews on the tip of his thumb as he waits for sky to say something and he's about to beg his friend to do exactly that when he hears sky speak up on the other end ]
[He's upset and he's angry but more than that? He's worried and scared for his friend. If he's in a potentially dangerous situation then he wants him out as soon as possible.]
[ this reaction from sky is somehow worse than if sky'd immediately started yelling at him. the concern is worse than being berated for doing something so stupid. he's unusually quiet when he responds ]
[Nothing better happen. But he does hang up and he's on a one man mission to get his ass back to the hotel. First to check on his friend and then he'll decide what he does from there.]
[ nothing does happen, thankfully. except for rain being left alone with his thoughts and worries about both what happened and what sky'll say when they finally see each other. it makes the trip back to the hotel feel so much longer than it really is, but also far too short.
rain doesn't even wait until he's in his room to send sky a quick 'i'm here' text. the moment he stepped inside the hotel, the text was sent.
is it wrong to hope that maybe sky isn't here yet? ]
[Not only is Sky there but he doesn't even bother to knock like he usually does when he crosses the hall and walks right in. The very first thing he does? Make sure that Rain is physically alright. Is he hurt? Is he sick?

[Going over to the couch, he sits down and crosses his arm to wait for the story.]
[ rain opens his mouth to greet sky when he walks in but... maybe not. maybe that's not really what he should be doing right now.
instead, he quietly follows sky over to the couch, though he doesn't sit down. rather, he stands in front of sky and takes a few deep breaths. he's also making a point of looking anywhere other than his best friend.

[ it was so much easier to just blurt it out when it was a faceless phone conversation and he hadn't had more time to think about it. it was much easier to say when sky wasn't looking at him like that ]
So I went to this bar in Gion. It was, um, I heard a few people mention it so I went. I ran into someone there that I'd met before. [ he'd like to leave simon's name out of this for now, if he can ] We started drinking and got pretty drunk. The, um, the bar has some private rooms and we sorta decided to go to one. Then suddenly Simon [ oops ] had me pinned up against a wall and he was kissing my neck and I think I really liked it. [ he seems especially distraught with that admission ] And his hands were all over me and we were making out and I really liked that too. [ the distress in his voice is increasing with each passing detail and the further realization of just how much he actually enjoyed the night ]
And then our clothes were off and- Sky I had sex with him. I wanted to. I asked him to.
[ was simon the one who brought it up? was rain? he can't remember now. it doesn't matter. he wanted it ]
[The more he listens the less happy he gets. He does actually know Simon so he's not happy with him either. It looks like he's chewing on something particularly unpleasant with the way his jaw moves from side to side. Soon his fingers are tapping on his arms which he hasn't uncrossed.
Loyalty is something that Sky values highly. Because after what he's been through... He knows he shouldn't push his own issues onto Rain like this but it's so damn hard not to. Especially when he knows how hard his friend worked to get the amazing boyfriend he has. The one he never shuts up about. Perfect P'Payu, handsome P'Payu, wonderful P'Payu...]

[ rain looks down at the floor when sky starts to speak, wincing with every detail he recounts back to him. that is basically how the night went, yeah. rain bits the tip of his thumb, glancing at sky only occasionally. it's hard to look at him. it's hard to even listen to him, but he's making himself do at least that much. he didn't initially text sky just to tell him about the hot sex he had probably less than twelve hours ago. he texted him to tell him about the mistake he made. with mistakes come consequences, especially from sky.
